EICgen
The program aimed at UniTo researchers to seize the opportunities of the European Innovation Council and the ERC Proof of Concept
EICgen is the meeting point between frontier research and high-impact European funding: a pathway that guides UniTo researchers in building competitive, scalable, and market-oriented projects, in line with the objectives of the European Innovation Council (EIC) and of ERC Proof of Concept.
A path towards European funding
Supported by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, EICgen is the University of Turin’s program designed to support the most innovative research activities within the university and connect them with the funding opportunities of the European Innovation Council (EIC). The initiative is open to the entire UniTo academic community and aims to strengthen its participation in European innovation programs — helping to foster a new “EIC generation” of research.
Identify and support high-potential innovative research.
Strengthen project and strategic skills for participation in EIC programs.
Promote stronger connections between research, innovation, and impact.
Support the emergence of a true UniTo “EIC generation,” ready to compete at the European level.
What is the European Innovation Council
The European Innovation Council (EIC) is the European Commission’s program dedicated to breakthrough and disruptive technologies, aiming to support researchers, startups, and SMEs in developing solutions that turn science into impact. The EICgen program was created to help the UniTo community navigate this ecosystem successfully and with confidence, providing tailored support, training, and tools to access the main EIC calls.
What the course offers and who it is aimed at
EICgen guides participants through the preparation phases of research projects via some main activities:
Targeted training on the EIC and ERC PoC for UniTo researchers and technical-administrative staff, aimed at understanding the mechanisms, tools, and priorities and educational path within the UniTo Doctoral School on the topics of innovation culture and impact.
Personalized professional consulting by the Department’s Innovation Desk and by innovation experts to support the drafting and refinement of project proposals, improving their quality and chances of success.
Participation in innovation events organized by the European Commission and matchmaking initiatives between research groups and corporate/startup partners, aimed at strengthening the project proposal consortium.
EICgen is open to UniTo-affiliated researchers, research groups and interdisciplinary laboratories, spin off companies, and research valorization projects with European potential.
